THIS IS A VINTAGE SIGN WHICH APPEARS TO BE EITHER BRASS OR COPPER WITH A TON OF PATINA GATHERED ON IT THROUGH THE AGES. I AM QUESTIMATING IT IS FROM THE 1920'S BECAUSE THE COMPANY IN NOW SPELLED WITH AN "O". I FOUND FINANCIAL REPORTS ONLINE FROM THE 20'S AND THEY DID NOT USE THE "O".

THE SIGN WEIGHS ALL BUT 3 POUNDS AND MEASURES 26 X 14. THE INDENTATIONS FOR THE LETTERING AND THE LOGO ARE THERE BUT AS YOU CAN SEE THERE HAS BEEN CONSIDERABLE WEATHERING OF THE PAINT.

I BELIEVE OTHER INDICATIONS OF ITS AGE ARE THE "PARIS FRANCE" INCLUSION AND THE MENTION OF STARKWEATHER AND SHEPLY, INC. WHICH IS A NEW ENGLAND COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE SINCE THE SAME TIME FRAME AS THE FINANCIALS MENTIONED ABOVE. THE LOGO OF THE PHEONIX COMING OUT OF THE FLAMES IS NEAT.

THE BOTTOM LINE READS AS FOLLOWS: STARKWEATHER & SHEPLY INC. UNITED STATES MANAGERS, PROV. RI
