You are bidding on a pristine VINTAGE Ciborium consigned for auction by a collector of religious art and artifacts in Miami who wants to help the Carmelite Convents. He has exquisite tastes, and is known for having unique pieces like this in his collection. This ciborium is suited for small congregations, hospital chapel services, and sick call visits. It is a 1/2 scale size "normal" ciborium. It is 6 inches tall to the top of the cross, has a 2 inch diameter cup opening, and has a 2.5 inch base. The piece is hallmarked STERLING(see pictures) on the cup only , and is gold filled with 14kt. yellow-gold on all sides, including inside the base . It weighs 262 grams and it retains 98%-99% of is original gold platting. The ciborium has NO DENTS, is not lose, and has no repairs; it has normal wear for a piece that is about 70-80 years old.
