Vintage Silverplate Champagne Cooler Ice Pail Bucket w/ Original Stand by Leonard Silver MFG Co. The Leonard Silver Company in Massachusetts, USA, manufactured this silverplate champagne cooler and stand in the early 1970s. The ice pail is heavy (4.5 lbs) with a thick silver plate finish and is ornately decorated along its rim and handles with a ruffled arch design (see images). The champagne cooler has two ornate handles and a deep pail that measures ~ 8" deep x 9" wide (10.5” H from base). The bottom of the pail has a pedestal stand and is engraved “LEONARD SILVERPLATE” (see images). This champagne cooler set includes a RARE, original, ionic column style stand with weighted pedestal base. The stand measures ~ 21” H from the floor to the holding plate and weighs ~ 6.5 lbs. The flared base attaches to the column with a 1” diameter magnetic screw that tightens securely (see images). The bottom of the base is stamped in block letters, “LEONARD SILVER”. Below the manufacture mark, there are four marks: a crown, LS, and a lion and the initials EP for the silversmith (see images). The base measures 9.25” in diameter and sits level on the ground.
