VINTAGE SILVERTONE COMPACT- PLATE MAIL BACK - by EVANS

For sale: A silver/chromed vintage compact that places it in the 40's era.

T's a diamond pattern and grid on the front surrounded by a circle that had black enamel in places. Some of this has worn off. The back of the compact is soft plate mail. Inside is a chromed metal rather than a glass mirror. T is a thick, unbroken tissue in the bottom that covers what appears to be loose powder. The top compartment is empty except for the "Mirror" cover, so a refill of rouge may have been in it at one time.

Great and unusual collectible!
