Singer 301 Slant Needle Sewing Machine Up for auction is a vintage Singer slant needle sewing machine, model #301, with a short bed. Included in this auction is a non-original carrying case, sewing machine w/cord and foot control, bobbin box, zig-zag attachment and bu ttonholer. Optional is the original cabinet in which this was mounted. The machine itself is in very good condition- it runs smoothly and looks great! I've stitched a sample and scanned it so you could have an idea of how it sews. The scan shows it sewing through eight layers of cotton and sewing through two layers of jean material, including the side seam. It went through the material without a problem, one of the reasons I admire these machines. It will sew great as soon as you unpack it but it hasn't been cleaned in quite awhile and could probably use it. Power cord and foot control are in excellent condition, you would have no need to replace them. The case it comes with isn't original, in fact it isn't a machine case at all. However I prefer it to those cases w the cover attaches to the bottom of the machine. It's not soft-sided and t is plenty of room inside to accommodate the machine, foot pedal, a few boxes of attachments, small thread box and small bobbin box. It's great if you would like to travel with it! When you're home it attaches to the cabinet very simply and easily. The buttonholer comes in the pink clamshell box and comes with several templates. The zig zagger comes in the original paper box and has a total of four cams. Also included is a bobbin box with some bobbins. I have included the supersize picture option in this listing for a better view of the machine and its accessories. The cabinet is optional and at over 35 lbs I'm sure not everyone would like to pay the shipping on it. Tfore the cabinet is free to the winner of this auction, so long as the winner pays to ship it. The cabinet itself is in fairly good shape. Given its age t are signs of use and scuffs, wear, and scratches. T is also a large round light colored spot on the top, about the size of the bottom of a 2 quart saucepan. T is also a small drawer on front. If you would like to approximate shipping for the cabinet you can go to the USPS website and enter my zipcode (14042), your zipcode and the weight of the cabinet (about 37 lbs. once it is packaged). Shipping cost of the cabinet is in addition to the shipping cost of the machine. This will be a separate parcel as I don't believe it is safe for your machine to be shipped in the same package as the cabinet. My husband disassembled it before we took a picture but it is quite easy to put together, just screw on the legs. Please email if you have any questions, I am always happy to answer!
