Cottage furniture was very popular during this era ... often it was painted but the better pieces were made of solid wood, most often maple. This is a solid maple cottage style END TABLE. It is round with turned legs and a lower shelf which adds much needed storage or display space as well as helping the table to be very sturdy. This charming table is well made, with some pegged construction, solid hardwoods and a beautiful ORIGINAL finish that has a rich, aged patina. This terrific table is sure to be a fine addition to any decor. Age (ca.) c1940 Dimensions It measures 22" in diameter X 26" High. Condition Good condition. Sturdy. Original finish has some age appropriate wear ... a few nicks, a few light scratches but nothing significant and nothing that would constitute damage. Provenance This beautiful piece comes from a prestigious estate auction in Long Island's Hamptons, home to America's wealthiest families for generations.
