This is a Vintage Solid OAK wood barrel with 6 metal bands. I'm not sure what it was used for exactly...wine, bourbon or water? Its a 5 gallon barrel, measures 17 Tall, and approx. 10.5 " in diameter at top and bottom. There is something marked on lid in red, but I can't make it out entirely...it looks like a 5, then below it what looks like #'s1825.Barrel is in very good condition. All bands are on solid, tight, no holes. The top looks like it's has a crack running across it, but I was told its a seam associated with how the barrel opened. The bottom is dirty, and looks rough, but it is solid.I don't think it's been opened in a very long time...if ever. The front wood cork will not budge, but I didn't want to force it. The spigot was with the barrel, but I'm not sure it goes with it.This barrel was in the estate of a friends father who recently passed away. He said it belong to his grandfather.Very nice piece. Thank you for looking!
