I have a nice piece for you-A rare vintage "Spirit of America" toy tin mechanical airplane. The plane measures 17" long and has a 17" wingspan. The main body of the plane is in outstanding condition with 99% of original Red paint; it features yellow No.60 at tail section on both sides along with painted cock pit doors complete with hinges and handles. At the front in bold yellow lettering is SPIRIT OF AMERICA, again on both sides and clear. The wings are yellow with red diagonal lines and a star on each wing, the wings are not perfect, they have some minor bends and one 3/8" scuff in paint on right side. The tail section is yellow with one 1/4" paint scuff on right and a slight bend on left. The prop is also yellow. The underside is almost better than the top with a red, white, and blue target motif. The rear wooden wheel rolls and the front green tin wheels roll and move a perfect working gear assembly that spins the prop. I've given you a complete an honest assessment of this great piece of Americana and the piece is really nice with age appropriate wear. You won't find them much nicer and certainly cheaper, even at my Buy it Now price. There is another currently posted at $1,000. Thank you for looking, bid high and often!
