T is a picture of an almost identical piece (not decorated) in the book "Bennington Pottery and Porcelain" by Barrett 1958 p.300 bottom row C (picture 5). I do know that a number of the pottery in the book has been discredited as English of the same vintage. The grandparents of the owner came from England. I will defer to the experts. It looks to me to be a possible toothpick holder. The polychrome painting of the leaves are especially excellent. T are a couple small losses- Picture 1. bud is nipped, small underside flake to top forget-me-not. Picture 3- rightmost flower is chipped, but has blue glaze over it, last leaf may have small underside chip . Size is 4 1/2" tall, Base 3 1/2 X 2 1/4. A fine piece! $6.00 to send. Insurance a must.
