Stanley #55 Universal Combination Plane This #55 is nickel plated with rosewood handles and fences. Nickel plating is about 65-70% intact. Handles and fences are in good condition, with some indication of use. This one appears to be complete as it sits (fences, spurs, etc.), but t are no other loose parts (i.e., it has only the one set of arm rods installed. This tool would be suitable for the user or collector. Cutters : The #55 regular cutter set contains 55 cutters. It is unknown if the four boxes of cutters are the original sets with the plane. It is also unknown whether this offering was originally purchased together. Dad often bought used tools both to use and for his collection. We have many that will remain in our own workshop that are older than anyone who will use them. The Stanley SW logo appears in the lower right corner of Boxes 1, 3, and 4. These cutters are generally in very good condition with minor corrosion damage. Box 2? has more wear and corrosion than the other three boxes. Among the four boxes offered with this plane, t are 52 cutters, 19 of them without numbers, contents as indicated by box, below: Box 1 - This box contains 11 cutters (#41, #40, #102, #113, #115, #64, #62, #84, #82, #95, #86), all of these part of the regular cutter set for the #55.
