Vintage Stanley Bailey No. 7C (Corrugated) Jointer Plane - Type 13 (1925-1928) Up for auction is a particularly beautiful Stanley Bailey No. 7C corrugated jointer plane dating from the late 1920's. The bed is marked with 1 patent date, ' APR 19, 10 '. The lateral adjustment lever is clearly marked with " Stanley ". The Sweetheart trademark iron is clearly marked and nearly full length. The casting is free of cracks, breaks, or repairs. The cheeks and corrugated sole have a really nice patina with no pitting. The plane is virtually free of rust with approximately 80-85% of the original japanning remaining, along with a few old paint specks. The lever cap is free of chips, just some light surface scratches. There is a very tiny nick in the rear edge of the mouth just behind where the iron seats that will not in any way affect use. The rosewood tote and knob have a very nice grain and rich color. The tote has a very old thin chip along the top left edge. All knobs and adjustment features work perfectly. The brass is clean but has not been polished. Please look carefully at the photo(s) as they further illustrate the condition and physical characteristics of this item. This exceptional old jointer plane has been living in my personal workshop. It would make a nice addition to any collection or a very handsome tool for the workshop.
