VINTAGE STANLEY CIRCULAR SURVEYORS PROTRACTOR RULE IN WOODEN BOX This was discovered at a recent clear out at the house of my parents. It belonged to my father who was an engineer and draughtsman in the aeronautical industry for many years from 1935 - it is possible if may have been passed down to him from his father although I think probably not. The 2p coin in the photograph hopefully gives you some idea of its size but the box measures approximately 33.5cm square and 3cm in depth. The diameter of the protractor is approximately 30cm. When inspected closely there are a couple of areas where the protractor is marked and there are a couple of scratches on the box but overall I would say it is in extremely good condition, particularly in consideration of its likely age. I would guess that the protractor is probably made from brass - it weighs approximately 678g alone and 2280g when in its box. A really lovely item.
