This is a Stanley No 4 Plane manufactured and sold by Stanley Rule and Level Co from 1907 thru 1909 as evidenced by the Stanley logo on the top of the cutter. This plane is 9 1/2 inches long by 2 3/8 inches wide and it has a 2 inch cutter. It weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces. T is a raised letter no 4 in the base forward of the knob and the patent dates in raised letering of March 25 and Aug 29, 1902 and April 19, 1910 in the base forward of the tote. The plane has been used as evidenced by the dings and scratches but t is no damage or missing parts and no rust. A nice addition to any collection and a fine example of the early Stanley planes.
