Up for auction is a vintage glass fragrance bottle with a sterling carry case. I have very little knowledge about vintage scent containers but I bought a varied lot of small sized, old perfumes and have been listing them for sale here on eBay for those of you who collect and wear them -- I just like the styling of the bottles themselves. It measures 3/8" x 1/2" 2 7/16" tall and consists of three parts: vessel, top and sleeve. The vial itself is a tiny long squared glass fitted out with a ground lip and fluted crown stopper with integrated stick. The glass has a flattened top and when the vial is slipped into the sleeve which has a spring loaded bottom mechanism and the handle is rotated over the flat top glass crown -- a tension fit is created and no liquid escapes. This vial is half full of some unknown scent; the stuck stopper has not been removed yet I detect no scent from the bottle in its currently closed position. The cap can be removed probably via the 'alcohol trick' and if you google 'stuck bottle stoppers' a detailed explanation is provided on how to remedy this situation. The case is silver and done up in a linear to curvilinear (deco-ish or secessionist) design and marked: WELLS STERLING on the exterior near the bottom.
