I had to put this one up for auction today; if I hadn't, I would never have been able to part with it! I purchased it just yesteday at the Renninger's Antique Extravaganza in Mt. Dora, FL, and it is the MOST EXQUISITE locket or charm I've ever seen. I have NEVER seen one like it on eBay! This exquisite piece is a nearly 1" by 3/4" opening book style charm or locket with the most perfect attention to detail. First of all, t is a raised enameled centerpiece on the front depicting the Swiss cross shield. The design of the book cover is very art nouveau, and not only is the front beautifully designed, so is the back! I am not sure of the date of the piece, but I believe it to be c. 1920's. T is a little opening and locking clasp on the edge which when opened reveals tiny little black and white postcards with scenes of LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND. Among them is the famous statue of the Lucerne Lion. I have photographed them for you to see. At one time they were all connected together, but along the way, some of them have come apart. T are 8 of them altogether: 3 are still connected, 2 sets of 2 more are still connected, and 1 is by itself. They are in remarkably good condition with no ripping, tears, smudges, or bent corners! Though unmarked, this piece is sterling silver. It has a fine aged patina that complements it nicely. I am offering read more
