VINTAGE "OLD STYLE" FILIGREE LOS BALLESTEROS STERLING/STONE EARRINGS This pair of earrings were recently on EBay and because "I made the mistake of using a Famous Mexican Designer's Name and Style in my Title and Listing -- these Los Ballesteros Earring's were removed" -- We must all learn from our mistakes-- I am re-listing them with revisions to the Title and Listing Description,and "with an Apology to my Bidders and eBay" on my previous listing on these earrings and rest assured they are the same "Los Ballesteros "Old Style" Filigree Earrings" you loved and visited 3 days ago, yesterday or today--Please come again ! --SORRY--We are still Learning --Just Smile and It Will All Be Better ! Ya Ya This auction is for a wonderful pair of vintag e Los Ballesteros Earrings. These earrings are 925 Sterling, Turquoise Cabochons, Coral Cabochons and the center stone is a large rectangular faceted Mexican Amethyst. The workmanship that went into this pair of earrings is incredibly beautiful and will turn heads when ever or w ever they are worn. Each stone in one earring is almost perfectly matched in size and color to the other as they are natural stones-t is ever so slight a difference but so subtle it is hard to pick out the differences. The large center stones are matched perfectly except one has a little more inclusions which is natural to the stone. The earrings have very intrigue designs of carved and stamped patterns with filigree wire. Each piece has wonderful openings in the workmanship and design that the light shines through. The Turquoise and Coral Cabochon are all bezel set throughout the pieces as are the 3 stone (2 coral and 1 turquoise) pieces set into the hinged part of each earring that hangs from the large upper piece. From this hinged part of the earring are 3 teardrop shaped dangles each set with a turquoise cabochon. The center rectangular faceted Amethyst is also bezel set. Each earring also has 2 pieces of coral that are not cabochon (round) but are just small straight pieces. The patina on this pair of earrings is incredibly beautiful. Each earring is marked Hecho en Mexico, Sterling 925,Talleres Ballesteros Taxco in a rectangular plate on the back. Los Ballesteros are major silver designers and artist in Taxco, Mexico and have been since 1937. Each earring is 2 1/2 " in length including teardrop dangles and 1 7/8" in width (widest width). They weigh 1/2 oz. or 15 gr. each. These earrings each have a 1/2 circle ring bale attached (original to each earring) on the back (can not be seen when worn as earrings) and could be worn as a pendant if so desired. They each have been converted from either clip-on earrings and had sterling post added or were once identical matching pins and converted to pierced post earrings as they each have 2 small smooth spots on the back above the Ballesteros marks were it looks like the sterling color is a little brighter. Because of the bales I think maybe they were identical pins. They already had the sterling post when I purchased them as earrings in the 70's in Florida. These earrings are truly exquisite to look at on or off and will certainly add to your collection if you love Vintage Mexican Classic Jewelry as this pair are both beautiful and classic in every way.
