THIS IS A RARE ESTATE FIND ... BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE STERLING SILVER CASE ..This is one of the best quality large double sterling silver cigarette case that I have ever seen. It is signed and hallmarked .950 . It is better then the average .925 standard silver. As stated, it is stamped . 950, the finest silver t is and it is solid !!. It is from the early 1900s and is in excellent shape. It is intricately engraved with a leaf and vine design. The cartouche on the front is free from engraved initials and erasures, tfore you could have your own initials engraved in it or someone elses for a gift. This is a good quality silversmiths. It has been superbly made having a slightly raised profile exquisitely engraved with scrolls on both the front and back. The sides have been engraved with a continuous band. It has been designed to hold cigarettes or small cigars on both halfs and still has the elastic strap protectors to keep the cigarettes from falling out. It is in excellent condition being free from dings splits and repairs.. The catch works perfectly and the hinge is nice and strong. It is a large heavy example measuring almost 4.25 x 3.25 inches, by .75 inch thick. I am not sure of its weight but is a very impressive size and, one of the heaviest of its type I have seen. A top quality superbly made. In nearly mint condition. I do not believe that it has ever been used..... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS RARE AND OUTSTANDING FIND. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ITS BEAUTY ..
