Vintage Sterling Silver & Marcasite Dog Brooch or Pendant with Matching Earrings This is a stunning silver and marcasite dog brooch with matching earrings. The dogs have collars that look like orangey red enamel. I particularly like the shape of the dog faces with their noses pointing upwards and finished with a little round ball. The way their ears are shaped is also very stylish as they go into a point.I am not sure how old the set is excatly, has an art deco look, but could be a repro or perhaps a later deco influenced piece from around the 50s. The gentleman I bought them from said they were his grandmother's and had never been worn.They are in excellent condition, with just minimal darkening on reverse to silver, will clean up- but I will leave to buyer.The brooch has a loop so could be worn as a pendant making it into a necklace if preferred. Brooch pin fastens with a safety roll catch and is in good workinig order. It measures approx: 3.4cm x 3.2cm (tallest/widest points) and is stamped 925 on revere in the neck area.The matching earrings are for pierced ears, with butterfly backs. They are stamped 925 on both the earrings and the butterfly backs too. They measure approx: 2.3cm x 1.4cm (tallest/widest points).The combined weight of earrings and brooch is approx 14g.Would make a lovely christmas present-just needs a nice display read more
