This lot consists of a wonderful and early sterling souvenir spoon from Honolulu, Hawaii. The spoon is marked, "Sterling" on its back ( pic. # 7), and I find no maker's mark on the piece at all. The spoon measures 5.25 inches long by a bit over 1" wide through the bowl. The fantastic Hawaiian warrior (pics 2, 3 & 6), seen on the souvenir spoon's handle, is almost 2.25" tall by three-quarters of an inch wide and stands on a pedestal. The sterling souvenir spoon is in great condition with no dents, bends, scratches, discolorations or damages of any kind. The spoon could use a good polish, but I will leave that to the high bidder. The early spoon displays much detail. The Hawaiian warrior handle is just great. I see a long spear in the warrior's right hand and a traditional Hawaiian head dress and cape that both have a texture...almost like feathers or tiny flowers. I see a piece of cloth sort of wound around the warrior's upper body, and I see that he is barefoot. The detail in the spoon is so good that I can easily see and count 5 toes on one of the man's feet. He stands proudly on a reeded pedestal, and the bowl of the spoon shows a palace (?) surrounded by well-molded palm trees. I see a statue in front of the building pictured on the spoon's bowl that looks exactly like the warrior seen on the handle of the vintage souvenir piece.
