For your consideration is a crock with the indented mark of J. FISHER & CO. LYONS N.Y; this means that this crock was manufactured between 1872 and 1902. This crock has a smooth glaze that I would hesitate to call yellow and hesitate to call brown; it is somewhere in between. This crock has an Albany slip interior. Examination of the interior shows evidence of this crock being hand turned. Examination of the handles shows that they were hand applied. This crock is approximately 7 3/8" tall and the bottom is approximately 7 5/8" in diameter. This crock has the following issues: Just behind the right handle is a very tight hairline that starts at the rim and runs at a diagonal for approximately 3". Also at the left handle is a very fine hairline that runs and down and in for approximately 4". Each handle exhibits some roughness. Around the bottom rim is one major chip and one minor to insignificant chip. This crock has several manufacturing imperfections that (in my opinion) add character.
