Vintage Stoneware Jug / Crock with Pouring Spout, Lid and Metal and wood handle
This is from my collection. I purchased it many years ago at an old farm sale in upper Westchester county, New York . I simply liked it's design, and I don't know what it was used for, and I don't know how old it is. I never used it for anything, just for d ecoration. It has a crockery lid that may or may not actually belong to it - although it does cover the opening it is loose. T are a few chips to the underside of this lid, which also show a little on top. The rest of the jug appears all original. It stands 10 1/4" tall (without the handle) and 7 3/4" across the bottom. It bulbs out slightly in the middle. The total top width of the opening is 5". The metal handle is approx. 6" tall from w it attaches to the jug. The spout's width is 1 1/4" from the outside. It weighs approx. 6 lbs. The inside has a brown glaze color. T are some imperfections in the glaze outside on the upper part and on the base along with a chip in the base and other areas that maybe someone, long ago attempted to fix or fill in - but I can't be sure - mentioned only for accuracy. T are no identifying marks on it. It's a nice, pleasing Jug - for whatever use!! Great for any Collection. Please see photos for condition and details .
