This is an interesting Deco period store shoe display I used for my Wedgwood high heels. It starts with a weighted 4-1/4" hexagonal base in stainless steel or nickel plate. I have applied a heavy felt pad to the bottom to save my furniture. It can be removed as it isn't original. Above the base is a butterscotch colored disk of what looks and feels like bakelite, followed by another silver disk and a round metal ball from which rises the post of the display. At the top is a finger screw which, when loosened allows you to telescope the post from 8" to 15-1/2" in height. This rises to the platform attached with what looks like an aluminum which loosens to adjust the angle of the platform from flat to almost vertical. The tapered and beveled platform also has an adjustable piece to hold the heel of the shoe. The glass measures 7-7/8" at the longest and 5-1/2" at the widest. There are a few nicks on the edges and there is a small shallow chip to the underside of one point. I provide two photos with arrows showing where it is and how difficult to see and also a close-up in the interest of full disclosure. It is heavy and well balanced and never tipped over in the 10+ years I owned it.Since I retired in 2009 I have eliminated only two of my collections. Bunnies and Elvis have left the building. Now it is time to get serious about liquidating read more
