We have up for auction this nice old vintage Strauss tin windup toy this is a Black porter? Or worker pushing a cart. The cart has an original decal on the front that says” Strauss Tip Top, Ferdinand Strauss New York”. The toy has been played with and has some minor paint loss here and there as would be expected on a toy of this age. His red hat has the worst and still isn’t horrible. Other than that there is a little here and there. The decal is all most complete with only a tiny bit missing. The top lip of the cart on the front above the decal has some minor bending. Now when you wind this up it does wind up a little and when you let go of key the wheels spin, but if you put it down it doesn’t “go”. It acts like it doesn’t have the power to move it. If you look at the photos of the bottom, there is something not right with the spring, looks unraveled or something, but is there and tries to work. Should be an easy fix to those who know how to work on theses but I will leave it up to them. This is a nice toy in decent shape. Oh yes, when he pushes the cart I think his legs “walk like” with the cart. The man is Approx. 5 ¾” high GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION! LOW starting bid and NO RESERVE so make it YOURS!
