Offered in this listing is an interesting piece of tanning history. This SUN KRAFT ULTRA-VILOET RAY GENERATOR stands a full 16" tall and has a nice deco style stainless steel (?) base. T is a timer on the base with a bakelite dial and the warning "WEAR GOGGLES." The legend for the timer talks about "treatments" which leads me to believe that this could be a piece of Medicine Quackery. The electric cord is in good shape - no splits or repairs that I can see. The "Burn-Out-Proof genuine pure quartz tube" is intact and seems to contain a small drop of mercury in the bottom. The bulb and timer are both in good working condition! Just plug it in, follow the directions and go. The original tag is included listing the following specifications: 1. Burn-Out-Proof genuine pure quartz tube. 2. Built-in automatic electric timer. 3. Activated by Sun-Kraft standard 117-L7-GT radio tube. 4. 110-115 volt A.C. or D.C. 20 watts. 5. Equipped with durable leattte carrying case. 6. Weight 15 pounds complete. Also included are the original "leattte" carrying case which is rough and an instruction book which is also rough.
