THE COMIC WEEKLY 1938 THE COMIC WEEKLY was included with the Sunday edition of the DETROIT NEWS . The Comic Weekly had between 16 and 20 pages on average each week depending on the number of ads and comics in each section. The Comics had the same dimensions as the newspaper itself measuring 21 1/4âe x 15 1/2âe. The volume is between 2 1/2âe - 3âe high. This is a bound volume of the entire 1938 year of comics. Since this was a weekly, t must be well over 900 pages. Heavy paper covers were used to protect the bound volume. CONDITION: This volume has just a few minor problems. The front heavy paper cover is loose and so is the 1st page of the first issue. That page is a little ragged. In the Sept. 4 issue, t is a square piece that was torn out. Also on the Dec. 25 issue, t is a large taped tear on the TARZAN strip. Other than that, t is minor wear showing. They were bound with a heavy string at 11 or 12 positions. This volume has a little more looseness than some of the other volumes - but the volume is still held together nicely.
