The spirit, charm and nostalgia of vintage Christmas is arriving early this year! I always prefer to avoid the "rush", as the holidays inch closer and closer and the inspiration seemed appropriate after a recent trip and discovery of a huge inventory of VINTAGE CHRISTMAS items from every category imaginable. I am releasing a varied assortment of treasured holiday items from the dining table to the Christmas tree, under the tree, fireplace mantel and everyw in between Each attic in the array of estate sales that I attended seemed to tell a silent story about the families who cherished the items and their traditions of celebration, spanning many, many decades. As I prepared all of the listings of these time worn treasures, it felt like a trip down Christmas memory lane, to far simpler era of long ago. I am very pleased to offer these vintage Christmas items to find a place of honor in a collection, or for your vintage holiday decorating and entertaining. The glow of Christmas Past will continue to evoke memories and new traditions for many, many Christmas' to come. HMMMM....NAUGHTY...OR...NICE?? I had an inspiration to create a sewing project after I discovered a host of VINTAGE CHRISTMAS COTTON TABLECLOTHS from the 1950's. Some areas of these vintage textiles had seen better days, but the ornate borders were PERFECT! I laundered the tablecloths and isolated the "best of the best" CHRISTMAS GRAPHICS. THREE different vintage tablecloths were patchwork pieced together and sewn into CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS. The timeless phrase, "naughty or nice", was the starting point to draft a pattern for the "very, very nice"!! The tablecloths combined with my personal collection of vintage Christmas fabric, yielded EIGHT STOCKINGS in two sizes, VERY LARGE = really, really nice!! The stockings are completely lined with a variety of coordinating fabrics, have cotton twill hangers and vintage red and green buttons, that have been added to assist in hanging "by the chimney with care." All are quite sturdy and feature vibrant Christmas graphics from many decades ago. Hand washable, air dry, light pressing. **PLEASE NOTE: The photos seen in the listings with the VINTAGE TABLECLOTH FABRIC STOCKING, FILLED WITH VINTAGE CHRISTMAS ITEMS, was used to illustrate a possible usage upon a front door. The contents inside the stocking are NOT included and were used for display purposes only.** STOCKING #7 LARGE size, measures: 24" LONG from the top of the fabric edge to the center bottom. It is 7" WIDE across the top and 12" WIDE from TOE TO HEEL. The 100% COTTON CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH FABRIC GRAPHICS include: SANTA CLAUS WAVING, RUDOLPH, SNOWFLAKES, HOLLY BERRIES, CHRISTMAS BELLS with RIBBON, POINSETTIA FLORALS. The stocking is backed in HOLLY LEAF & BERRY FABRIC. The LARGE SIZE STOCKINGS have a sturdy cotton twill hanger loop on the right upper top, secured with vintage RED or GREEN buttons to hold it snugly in place. I truly enjoyed creating these nostalgic CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS. The generous width and length makes them capable of being filled to the brim with "treasures and treats" and will bring endless delight to the "very, very nice" on Christmas Eve, or Christmas morn! All of the Christmas stockings have a binding, overall coordinating display, with subtle differences in the backing and lining fabric.
