I have for auction a Vintage Tea Tile or Trivet made by Minton China Works - Stoke upon Trent. This tile depicts Old Edinburgh, Cardinal Beaton's House in sepia (brown) tones. I would guess it dates to late 1800's or early 1900's judging from the crazing and wear. T are a few chips and discolorations on the back and around the edges - the worst of which I have pictured for you. Tile measures approximately 6" square with the feet raising it's height to about 3/4". This is a great old piece of memorabilia which has seen its fair share of work. The surface is not glossy anymore due to having had a teapot or kettle scrape across its face so many times. I can see the mistress of the house pouring yet another cup of tea for a visitor. It has graced my home for some time now and it's time to pass it loving on to another appreciative collector. Please email any questions and Thanks For Looking In!
