Up for bid: GUARANTEED OLD vintage Texaco trashcan. This trashcan was purchased by me from a son of an ex-Texaco gas station owner. It was in the Texaco gas station, and was mounted on the side of the wall.It could have also been mounted between two gas pumps at a serveice island. The dimensions are approximately 35 inches tall, 18 inches wide. The hole w the trash goes is a perfect size for a vinage oil can to slide through at 6 inches from side to side or 6 inches top to bottom. This is a very unique trashcan that I have never personally seen offered for sale anyw I am guessing that the trashcan could be dated anyw from the 1930's to 1950's - as I stated, this is my opinion but not a fact. It is stamped on the inside of the can Patent number 3075687. The can comes with decorative stainless steel trim around the circle w the oil can or trash would go. T is also another stainless decorative band that goes from one side to the other on the front of the can, and a little small handle that you can pick the trashcan cylinder up from to empty the trash. I do believe the stainless trim pieces and handle are original. The original color of this item was a grayish sort of color; it has been repainted through the years to a Texaco green, and has the Texaco decal. This is exactly the condition in which I purchased the trashcan. I have enjoyed it just as it is. I believe it would be very easy to restore it to its original condition if so desired. The trashcan is made extremely well out of a heavy gauge metal; It is simply screwed to a wall with the factory made holes and the trashcan container hooks in nicely and connects or can be disconnected when lifting the small handle. The bottom is very solid, with only minor surface rust. The very back of the can as stated has its original paint, with light surface rust. On the front of the can, t are a few minor pinholes that are showing through, and t is some surface rust on the front lower part. I believe this could be easily corrected with restoration or displayed as is. THIS ITEM IS SOLD WITH NO RESERVE, STARTING AT 9.99. Thanks for looking.
