This older (60s or perhaps earlier) quilt is just so pretty and bright! ASSETS: All hand pieced and hand quilted, and the pieces are perfectly matched and the stitching is very tiny and extremely evenly done. And- t is a whole lot of quilting done , with a square pattern of quilting on the solid pink and stitched about 1" apart in the tiniest stitches. Each of the diamond shaped pieces that make up the star is quilted around the edges. The colors are what makes this beautiful design work so well- the background and the reverse side of the quilt are light pink. The star is done in bright pastel pink, bright golden yellow and prints that compliment the solid colors.THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN: This is worn quite thin at the top and the bottom, especially in the corners and t is one place with a hole about 1 1/4" by 1" on the underside. The Texas Star itself is perfect. This gorgeous quilt measures about 72x90", and it is all hand pieced and hand quilted, but it needs a few repairs as I have mentioned; basically on the corners. This one is well worth repairing. Everyone who sees it remarks on how pretty it is!
