A fine vintage Sumatra Indonesia wedding headdress or tiara This sale is for a beautiful vintage wedding tiara or headdress from Sumatra. PLEASE NOTE: we ship from the United Kingdom. SIZE: This rare Sumatran bridal tiara measures 7 ins high (approx 16.5 cms). The width is 17 ins (approx 36 cms) with the inner diameter of the headband adjustable from 6½ - 7½ ins approx (16 – 19 cms). CONDITION: this headdress has been hired out and worn by many Sumatran brides and therefore signs of repair, missing rhinestones and elements are to be expected. It is in good condition considering the use it has been put.MATERIALS: antiqued gold tone and coloured metal. DATE: 1980S DESCRIPTION: The headdress is based upon a band of gilded metal, surmounted by four rows of hammered metal flowers. The flowers are made in various fashions. Next to the hair is a row of flowers in hammered sheet brass. Next is a row of rose like flowers made from red coloured metal and having curved petals. Above these are massed small flowers of cut brass mounted upon wires, along with leaves cut from the same. Four large gold tone flowers built up in a three dimensional manner are set against them.
