Timex Watch With Sterling Silver and Turquoise Side Bands This is a lovely woman's Timex watch. It's made in Mexico and has sterling silver side bands with inlaid turquoise and an extension stretch back band made in the USA.
As is the watch should fit up to a 7" wrist but for larger wrists the extension will band will have to be replaced with a longer one.
The watch is a wind up so no having to replace batteries. I've timed it against my computer for 24 hours and it kept perfect time!
In the pictures you can see what might look like small scratches on the surface but is actually dust accumulated under the glass. It's not really noticeable but a watch dealer could easily remove the glass and clean the underside if you desire. I've never taken a watch apart before so I'm not even going to attempt it.
The side bands are sterling and done with thin strips of overlaid turquoise. The side bands themselves are not marked so they have been tested and are guaranteed to be sterling.
The watch is marked "TIMEX MEXICO" and BASE METAL BEZEL STAINLESS STEEL BACK". The extension band is marked "USA" on each link.

Most of my items are vintage sterling and have a patina ranging from light to extremely dark. Since many collectors prefer that the patina remains intact, I try to keep them that way and just give the pieces a soft cloth polishing to remove any surface dirt so they are nice and clean.
