Vintage tin wind up toy of a clown made in the early 1950's. It is litho painted and is dressed in baggy blue pants, an orange jacket and a green and yellow striped tie. When wound up the clown rolls, nods his head and tips his hat. The key is still with this toy, which is a rare find, as many of them are missing. The mechanism winds but needs assistance in operation. There is only minor wear from play and light scratches. The litho colors are bright and seams are good. In the center of the chest there is an indentation that we thought to mention for accuracy. We are unsure if this is how it is made or if it is a small dent, but if feels even on either side of the tie. This can be seen in the second photo, please view all of them carefully. This toy stands at 5 3/4" tall. It is marked Made in Western Germany and DBGM.
