Vintage Tinplate Friction VW Karmann Ghia Black MIB Description From warehouse find: vintage Chinese made friction powered Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. This was made in China from the early 60's through 1980's, in the pre-barcode period. Now a very sought after model, as this was a very good looking Chinese copy of a Japanese toy made by ATC/Asahi. It is appr. 10" long and it has a friction motor with siren. It is completely made of tin, with a detailed tinplate interior. It is unused mint stock but as usual with old Chinese tin toys it shows production traces and may be touched up at some places where the tin pressing machine made too rough edges or the paint did not attach well enough. It comes with its box, which may have markers marks on it and may be a bit rough. Marked "Made in China" and "MF 743".
