Vintage Tole Tray Peter Ompir ? Folk Art Paint Toleware

We will state right off that we have no idea whether this unsigned vintage toleware tray is actually the work of folk art painter Peter Ompir. What we do know, however, is that we found it in Burlington, Vermont.......w Ompir worked for the nearby Shelburne Museum. We have listed separately a work of Ompir that IS signed and which was a gift of the artist to a local family. In our work as florists servicing weddings at The Brick House at Shelburne Museum (the restored home of museum founder Mrs. E. Webb and later her son J. Watson Webb) we have noticed a pair of tole trays in the kitchen which exactly match the form and coloration of the tray we are offering.....although the images are different. Those signed trays and our recent Ompir estate find (our other listing) helped us recognize the potential origin of this more recent discovery. Confused yet? So t you have it....this tray is unsigned, but executed in a form and in a colorway of known Ompir works. We'll let those in the know decide whether Peter painted it or if it is simply done in his style. At the very least it's an affordable option for folks who love that Ompir "Look." The image on the face of the tray is evident in the photos attached, and the sides are banded with brick and green shades. The back of the tray is painted in antique green.....with muted greens and browns swirling around the outside. T are several nicks to the paint on the tray's face and around the base, but these are not distracting and no visual competition for that perky biker. The tray itself is sound....with no dents, breaks, or repairs. Folky and fun this tray sports a handy diameter of 12&3/8ths inches. Please ask any questions which come to mind.
