Topping F4U Vaught Corsair!!! Up for bids is this beautiful example of a 50's Topping Corsair! This plane has plenty of shine and all the decals are original and in perfect condition except the canopy decal. It's flaking, but not anymore at the moment. This is common for this plane as the decal has a lot of bumps and curves. I was going to replace or repair it but I'm too much of a purist to do that. I'll let the new owner decide. This is a true auction as I have set a $1.00 starting bid with NO Reserve! This plane will sell! I'm sellig because my wife and I bought a house in FLA, and can use the funds to help pay some of the move. This plane will make a fine centerpiece to any collection. I know exactly how rare and costly this plane can be, but I have faith in the fair market. The decal on the stand looks to be white but it's a silvery/gold actually. Photo problem when not using flash. Sorry, but NO BOX (too bad). I'll let the pictures do the talking, but email me with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. I highly recommend insurance on this model as it is very rare and after it leaves me, the winner and the Post Office own it. NOT ME! It's really the only option the new owner has to recover damages. I'd be happy to help the winner in any claim if I can of course. So bid now on this rare beauty!!! And may the best collector win!!! Thanks for LOOKING! I have just been informed by a good collector that this Topping is pre-1950 as the insignia is pre Air Force which formed in 1947. So this is at least 1946 vintage. I suspected so but wanted confirm from a more experienced collector. Thanks Jim. Over 50 years old folks!! Frank It appears that some people out t think that the decals are too new on this plane. They are NOT! The effect is caused by light refraction off the two different colors of the blue of the plane and the not exactly matched blue of the decals! This is VERY common with vintage planes as the plane color ages differently than the decal color. They are made of two dissimilar materials and will age differently. Any basic collector understands this. When shown in regular light, the colors blend perfectly. I didn't like the way the question was asked and take exception that I'm trying to represent something that is not what I described. If anyone has reseverations about the authentisity of this item then by all means DON"T bid on it! I am a very honest person and several regular collectors on ebay know that. Thank you for reading this and I hope that this clears up any questions about the decals on this plane!
