This is a super nice Vintage Trek frame, model 500, and sized for around 5'2-5'4 person. It could also be a great frame for a fixie or single speed conversion (please dont hack off the d-hanger or braze-ons if you do). It would look fantastic with hard anodized 700c wheels. There are a few scratches and scrapes in the paint, but overall much nicer than you would expect for a frame that is almost 30 years old. Check out the pictures for detail. There is a slight marring on the top and bottom of the chainstays from a kickstand clamp, see pictures below. Clean, shiny and all threads are in excellent condion. This frame is ready to ride and enjoy. The ride quality and geometry of this classic touring bike is comparable to any high end bike of its day. Miyata, Nishiki, Bridgestone, etc. with the distinct advantage of being made in the good old USA, Waterloo Wisconsin. Don't waste money on an overpriced Rivendell frame, or a brand new Surly Pacer, build this vintage USA made frame to your own specs!
Beautiful classic lug work, high quality US craftsmanship.
Buyer to pay actual packaging and shipping costs. The last frame/fork I shipped was $40. It will be packed with great care, so it arrives as beautiful as the pictures show. This item will be advertised locally for BIN price, and seller reserves the right to cancel auction if sold. Auction is for the frame and fork only. Wheels shown in pictures below are for demonstrative purposes, and will not be included.
