This is truly a fabulous and regal lot of 2 matching Trifari Jelly Belly or Moonstone Crown Brooches with a matching earring (sorry to say I could not locate the other earring). Featured in several books and highly collectable this stunning group was designed by Alfred Phillipe for Crown Trifari in the 1940's!! Throughout jewelry history the Crown has always been very collectable with this set being one of the most sought after. This particular line of “jelly belly” or “moonstone” crowns was part of a line of sterling silver with gold vermiel and produced in 3 sizes. The first brooch listed here is the largest produced measuring approximately 2 inches x 2 inches in size with the second brooch measuring approximately 1 1/2 inch x 1 1/2 inch in size. The matching earring measures 1 inch long x 3/4 inch wide. Both Crowns are signed“Sterling Trifari Des Pat No.137542” on the back and as well the earring is stamped Trifari. These crowns were produced using a number of jelly cabochon color combinations – this one very regal in colors of white, royal blue and ruby red. In addition to the jelly belly stones there are additional chaton accents ranging in colors from white to blue to red. The patent design by Alfred Phillipe was filed and issued in 1944. All pieces are in excellent vintage condition for age with some wear to the gold vermiel on the back side of the brooches appropriate for years. All stones are intact except for 1 tiny blue stone along the outside edge of the smaller crown with the hardware secure and functional. Sorry to say I could not find the second earring but thought I would include it as found with the brooches. PLEASE NOTE: NYS add 8% Sales Tax.
