we start with a large vintage Truetone tube two-tone wood tuning-eye pushbutton AM/SW/Aircraft radio in very nice looking & working condition. Now before I go on about the cabinet & working condition of this radio. I thought this truetone radio was made for western auto but on the metal tag it has radio corp of america & general electric co & westinghouse electric & mfg co so I am truely not sure who really produced this radio it sound like several companys had t hands in it. Now lets head on & talk about this very nice looking large table top radio. The model number is D-711 & the chassis model is 209-E & I think it was produced in 1937-38 maybe even 1939? This trutone beauty is a real looker & player but it does have some issues. The wood two-tone cabinet is very rich in color & it has a wonderful luster to it & the wood speaker grille is in great condition including the grille cloth & is original however (& t is always a however in life) on the top side of the cabinet it has some finish issues not vaneer issues & this can be resolved with not to much troble. That is about all that is wrong with the cabinet, it is tight & very clean not to say it could use a tooth brush cleaning & it would look fantistic. The dial face itself is in great looking & working condition including the dial lights but the plastic dial cover is cracked read more
