This is a vintage statue of Lord Buddha from Thailand. It was sent to me by a dear friend (who is a Theravada monk), Pra Lewis. The status is original and very old and comes with papers. It was in the Wat the time the Tsunami hit Thailand was was washed out to the sea. It laid at the bottom of the ocean for some time before being found by two boys swimming. They brought the statue back to the monastery w it was handed over to Pra Lewis. He had it ingraved in Thai for me and I have no idea what the inscription say but we know it is a prayer. It is also dated in Thai on the back when the statue was found. The statue cost me an arm and a leg to resurface the nice patina and bronze taht laid below but it was well worth it. I would like to send the money back over to Thailand to help the children and Pra Lewis' monastery. A VERY OLD but in great condition piece. It comes with papers from the Kindgom of Thailand (you have to have these for all Buddha leaving Thai shores) and the lead clamps with seal. If you have any questions, let me know.
Thank you! Statue is 11" in height. VERY HEAVY STATUE as it is completely filled.
