A NEAT bit of Tupperware HISTORY!! And a RARE??? Tupper Treasure!! I know this set dates from the 50's because it's pictured in my 1959 Tupperware catalogue. I was thrilled when I spotted the set at a flea market and was almost afraid to ask the lady how much she wanted. All the pieces were in a pile and she said it had been in the garage forever so if I'd take it all, she'd give me a good price. It wasn't until I got back to the car and started counting that I realized EVERYTHING was t!! Needless to say - the rest of the day at the flea market was very anti-climactic!! The set consists of:6 - 9" dinner plates (pink, blue, yellow, white, green, peach)6 - 6" bread plates (pink, blue, yellow, white, green, peach)6 - 5.5" saucers (pink, blue, yellow, white, green, peach)6 - cups (pink, blue, yellow, white, green, peach) and6 sauce dishes (pink, blue, yellow, white, green, peach).In the catalogue, the sauce dishes are not pictured with the rest of the pieces but are featured on the same page. All components were sold separately - in other words you could buy 6 plates or 6 cups or 6 saucers or 6 bread plates or 6 sauce dishes. The plates sold for $2.89 per 6 and the sauce bowls were 89c for 6!!!Considering that the set is almost 50 years old, it's in remarkably good condition. I purposely showed the blue set as that plate is the only piece that is stained and starting to peel. All but 1 of the plates has "bubbled" a bit in the center but none are peeling. Since this is only on the dinner plates, it may be a manufacturing defect?? The set has been gently used. You will find normal use wear but no melts, other stains, or signs of misuse. Colors have mellowed and the shine is gone but to me that just verifies AGE!! All pieces are marked "TUPPER Millionaire line". This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all you Tupper Lovers!
