1920's Vintage Wool Ty Cobb Style West Point Baseball Uniform Dimensions; Chest 44", Waist 33", Length from side waist to bottom of pant 34 1/2" Description; Circa 1920's 3 piece matching baseball uniform (jersey, pants and cap, no leggings). This style uniform is reminiscent of the Ty Cobb style era. The uniform has a dark purple or navy color collar and trim around the end of the sleeves. The pants have piping down the sides and a front button closing. The rest of the uniform is a gray. The pull over jersey has three plastic buttons and is made of heavy wool with a pointed collar. The top has a stylized "WP" on it. I was told this was a West Point baseball uniform but I have no way of proving that but it was bought at a retired officers estate in Dayton, Ohio home of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. There is no player's name or manufacturer's name on the uniform. The pants are the baggy type and have large belt loops and a single back pocket. The cap is wool also and has a leather band on the inside. Again, there is no player's name or manufacturer. I don't think the black leather belt is the same age as the uniform but it came with uniform and shows well. Great looking period baseball uniform for the advanced collector. Condition; The uniform is in very good condition and has an excellent look. There are no rips, tears or unsightly stains or holes in the stitching. There are quite a few moth holes and there is some staining on the inside waist band and on the pants. The buttons on the front closing are rusted. This uniform has been well taken care of. Reasonable reserve!
