For auction is a very nice and very old United States Post Office Letter Collection Box.These were found in front of post offices and in different locations around the U S cities and towns. This model was made obsolete and scrapped by the post office 45 years ago and has been in my possession since then. It was manufactured by the Reading Stove Works, Reading PA. It is all cast iron and weighs 55 pounds. You will notice the american eagles in every casting that make up this letter box.The only paint on this box, and t several coats was post office applied. It is in authentic condition. If you look at the top view on the left hand side of the lift door t is a small tab that has been broken off. you can see the difference from the right hand side.It was like that when I got it from the scrap yard. It measures 18" X 13" X 8" . The shipping cost is high due to the weight Good luck bidding, John
