GLITTER DOLLS DESCRIPTION : This is a VERY RARE UNCUTVINTAGE paper doll set “GLITTER DOLLS AND THEIR WARDROBES.” It was published by Playtime House and comes in its original box. ID # 3151. Although not dated, it appears to be circa 1940s or 1950s. NOT A REPRODUCTION. Playtime House was a company from Rochester, NY. It made toys, including puzzles and games, in the early and mid 20th century. There are only 8 paper doll sets listed in Mary Young’s paper doll collector’s guide for this company. This set comes with 3 lovely paper dolls made of heavy cardboard and they are still in their cardboard backing. They are named: Debbie, Suzie and Lonna and are approximately 8 3/4 inches tall. There are 3 pages of fairly simple uncut clothes that are all dresses, coats, and hats. Box instructions indicate that the child was to apply water to “pre-glued” areas using the end of the glitter applicator stick. Then the glitter found in the little packet was to be sprinkled on the those areas. Hard to say how well this worked! The original applicator stick and glitter packet are included. The box size is approximately 12 X 10 1/2 inches. Smoke-free home.
