Vintage UNIQUE German Hand Cut Lead Crystal Ash Tray

This is a beatuiful piece of lead crystal. It is clear and quite heavy. It weighs nearly 15 ounces. This ash tray despite its 50 year age looks quite contemporary. It is a round ball with one portion cut flat making an opening for a cigarette to rest on an indention cut into the bottom of the opening. When a cigarette rests on this cut out indention it will extend into the ball itself. The smoke is trapped inside the ball making it a "smokeless" ash tray. This ash tray has never been used. The flat bottom which allows the ball to set has a beautiful star cut into it. T are other hand cut designs as well. The back of this spherical ash tray has a large hand cut swirling pattern star. This unusual ball ash tray stands 3 1/4" tall. It is 3 1/4" in diameter. This ash tray is from Germany and is in mint condition.
