This is a vintage "UNIVERSAL" BREAD MAKER, made by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut. My guess is that this unit has never been used. T is no indication anyw that this maker has been in action. Some of the parts were still wrapped in tissue paper. Includes all the parts in the pictures, the bucket, the top cover, the crank, the cross piece, the table clamp and the kneader. The bucket stands 9 1/2" tall and 12" across the top. The instructions are stamped on the cover. T is just one tarnish spot on the cover, otherwise this is in really top condition. It must have just been on a shelf all these years. T is a gold seal on the front of the pot. It is in super condition, but it was very hard to get a good picture because of the light glare. It reads: NO. 4 "UNIVERSAL" BREAD MAKER AWARDED GOLD METAL ST. LOUIS EXPOSITION 1904 MADE BY LANDERS, FRARY & CLARK NEW BRITAIN, CONN. USA A gold metal in 1904 would have been a big deal and it was probably put on these pots ever since. Nice old kitchen collectable or a great item for you Universal folks.
