Description ( revised ) Item Specifics Category, Maker : Van Briggle Type: Vase Origin : United States Main Color: Ming Turquoise Up for Auction today is a Van Briggle Three-Indian-Face Vase. It is 12 inches tall and has the Desert Rose matte glaze that was discontinued in the early 1990's. It has a blue overspray on the Indians' hair and scarves, which doesn't show up in the photos. This vase has some imperfections, which I have shown in the photos. Mainly the glaze cracking around the bottom of the vase. Also, t are some blue marks on two of the Indians' faces (maybe blue spray) and some scuff marks around the bottom as well. Not sure if the scuffs will come off, but I'll leave it up to the winning bidder. It is most likely from the late 1970's or early 1980's. This is definitely a unique piece! The Indian vases are created from a mold, but vary from piece to piece, depending on who did the finish work, making each of them different. The expressions on these Indians are very well done. The bottom marking has the Van Briggle logo, and says, "Van Briggle," and a misspelled "Clo." "Spgs," and the initials might be "MM," but your guess is as good as mine. All of the pieces I will be auctioning were obtained from Gean Holland, who worked for Van Briggle for approximately 40 years as a glaze sprayer. She needs to liquidate her collection due to health reasons, and since her granddaughter is my best friend, I volunteered to sell her pieces. We now have over 30 pieces to offer over the next few months, so check back frequently for new pieces. These pieces are dated from the 1970's to 2001. Also, I will be listing four Indian busts that are Limited Editions soon. All items sold "as-is."
