Vintage Van Briggle Lorelei Ming blue11" Vase MINT GEM!

Highly attractive matte-glazed, vintage Lorelei vase, one of Van Briggle's most enduringly popular designs, in perfect condition. Molded cream-colored earthenware body, with the form of a young girl, half nude, draped over the top and sides of the vase in bas-relief, her long hair flowing one way and her shawl the other, extending from her right shoulder all the way down almost to the base, its farthest folds suggesting the shape of a mermaid's tail. A single foot extends below the shawl halfway down. Matte turquoise glaze with a mottled cobalt overspray. Base unglazed and varnished. This piece has the crisper more detailed definition, particularly in the features of the face, of the early versions of this mold. Modern Loreleis come from a re-issued, slightly changed version with less detail.
I have two other Van Briggles for sale, all from the same local estate and new to the market. One is a 1920s blue-on-mulberry dragonfly vase in superb condition. Please see my other listings. Date: Mid 20th Century. Marks: Inscribed with the Van Briggle logo with the two As in a square. Underneath it the words Van Briggle, Colo. Spgs in lower case. Also a finisher letter S inscribed into the clay. No glazer's or other marks that I can see. Condition: Excellent. No problems. Very clean and well-cared-for condition. Interior is clean and unstained. Absolutely no chips, cracks, hairlines, scratches or repairs. This is a wonderful piece of pottery that commands instant attention wver it is placed. Size: Vase is just under 11 inches tall and 4.5 inches across the widest diameter (27.8 x 11.8 cm). Packing & Shipping: I pack all my items with the utmost care and in a way which, if I was the buyer, I would want to receive them myself. I have six years' experience packing and shipping ceramics and glass, always double-boxed, and always carefully protected and firmly padded to prevent looseness and movement.
