WOW!! Every once and a while I wonder how precious family memories become available. This is one of the most beautiful and sad ones that I have ever ran across. This is a wedding album from a wedding which took place in Texas on January 22, 1914. Other than some damage to the outside cover this book is in mint condition.Included with this album are personal letters, marriage certificate, and other documents which provide some history to the piece. This book includes several illustrations by Frances Brundage, who generally did illustrations for post cards and books. I am assuming that this was a purchasable item--which is quite elaborate for it's day. May Sandheim also assisted with the illustrations--quite a few of the pages include poetry. This book was produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons which had locations in London, Paris, Berlin and New York. Publishers to their Majestry The King and Queen and TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales.I can guarantee that this is a one of a kind item that you will probably never see in this condition again. The color illustrations are beyond belief--the smaller illustrations which abound almost on every page are very detailed and fascinating. Included are several poems on the romance and richness of a wedding. Some of the pages are completed with information, some are not. But as I said t are also some personal documents of this couple.Unfortunately, this fairy tale didn't seem to have a happy ending. The couple were married in 1914 and the groom, from the death notices included passed away in 1920.
