While rummaging thru an old forgotten filing cabinet, I discovered a folder full of old Victoria's Secret lingerie catalogs. These are classics. They hark back to a time when lingerie was a bit naughty, mysterious, alluring, luxurious, and exotic. The truly fine and sophisticated lingerie was actually pricey and not being worn everyday by high school girls visiting the mall. The Victoria's Secret models shown in these catalogs were not yet world famous celebrities. But they are very beautiful women and certainly more daringly barely dressed than in today's catalogs. T is even, allegedly, an authentic woman proprietress of Victoria's Secret shop named (of all things) "Victoria". One can see in these vintage catalogs a distinctive photographic style which ultimately will evolve into the Victoria's Secret brand image. Presented separately for auction currently are three of these vintage Victoria's Secret lingerie catalogs. The catalog pictured and offered is from the fall of 1979 with "prices effective from Sept. 1979 until April 1980". Excluding the covers, this catalog has twenty-four pages of lingerie and supporting photographs. It is in like new condition and truly a collector's item. Obviously, for the buyer who wins more than one, I can combine shipping.
