This set of four 9 1/2 inch dinner plates are in blue and white and have a stylized poppy design. The plates are actually listed and shown in my flow blue book as "Dresden", but I have a feeling the author has probably confused the place of manufacture with the pattern name. Anyway, I don't know the pattern name although I have seen this through the years. They are all signed with the Villeroy & Boch mark, an underglaze blue "F508" and an impressed cartouche with numbers and letters. The plates are in very good condition, no chips or cracks, just a few light utensil scratches seen when held to the light. The style of the flowers leads me to believe these were made in the 1920's-1930's. I will also be listing a set of soup bowls in the same pattern.
